Hot Stone Massage
Hot Stone Massage is a massage treatment that uses basalt river rocks that are warmed to 122 F in a professional heater. They are then used by the massage therapist with an effleurage stroke to warm the trapezius and spinal muscles, the gluteals muscles, and the larger muscles of the legs. Then the hot stones can be used to get into the deeper, smaller muscles in the neck, hip, legs, hands, and feet. The combination of heat and pressure provides the client with a relaxing massage that is very effective at releasing tension. The hot stones can also be placed along the spine or the chest to radiate heat while the massage therapist works on another area of the body. This is the perfect treatment for a rainy day, during a seasonal change, or for an overall experience of heat and warmth.
