Stress Relief with Reiki
Chez Gabrielle provides Reiki as a form of stress relief. Reiki means "universal life energy" in Japanese. Reiki is a type of alternative medicine that heals the body with energy. Hands are used over the person's body to help energy flow to reduce stress and promote healing all over.
Mikao Usui, also referred to as Usui Sensei, is credited as the founder of Reiki. Other forms of Reiki have been developed, although Mikao Usui is considered the founder of this healing practice. He was born in Japan in 1865 and practiced Reiki until his death in 1926. Usui did not discover Reiki until 1922, when he had an experience where Reiki energy was given to him and developed his own kind of Reiki that he called Usui Reiki Ryoho. It is common knowledge that Reiki energy has been around for thousands of years, although not given a name until recently.
When someone is sick, their energy is considered low. When someone is great their life energy is high. Reiki is very safe and simple to have done on one's body. Reiki is not taught in a traditional way, but rather transferred from master to student. This is done during a Reiki class where an `attunement" is performed. During this attunement, the student is able to receive an unlimited supply of this "life force energy" by the master, which enables the student to help others receive a better quality of life.
Reiki uses energy that works at emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual levels to heal the body and mind. It assists in bringing the body back to a state of well-being and peace. Gentle touch is used to transfer this energy from the therapist to the patient.
